I fell in love with yoga in 2004 when I did my first Bikram yoga class. The heat helped warm my body and become more flexible than I thought I was. The series is a perfect mix of stretching and strengthening, and the peace I found in savasana that first class I can still remember.
Many benefits are obvious in my life practicing yoga on a regular basis. I feel calmer in difficult situations. I feel more flexible, and I mean mentally, although of course I am more flexible phyically as well. I find it quite humbling and enlightening to stare into a mirror and look for answers in my eyes for 90 minutes. I am getting better at letting go of my expectations and simply doing my best each day.
The best way to learn is to teach and I have found my practice has improved my teaching and my teaching has improved my practice. I am grateful to teach every class that I do.
Keep practicing, keep smiling, keep breathing."
